The Quarter Final Series heads to Melbourne for Game 2 and if required a Game 3.

Coming off a fairly comfortable Game 1 victory and Andrew and Lanard in good shooting touch the confidence within the team would have been very high.

For the Hawks to have any sort of a chance at an upset they had to get off to a good start, and they did. Leading at the first break 29 – 28.

The second quarter saw the Tigers continue with their free scoring game by racking up 29 points while restricting the Hawks to 21 points. At the main break the Tigers were leading 57 – 50.

The third quarter was a tight tussle with the Tigers increasing their lead by 2 points at the end of quarter.

Going into the last quarter leading by 9 points the home town crowd could be expected to have one eye on the Semi Final series. During the last quarter the lead had got out to 14 points but late in the quarter Mike Corkeron hit 3 successive 3 pointers to bring the margin back to 3 points. All of a sudden the game was alive again but the Tigers steadied the ship and cruised to a 10 point victory behind some large scores from the big 3, Gaze, Copeland and Bradtke.

Wrapping up the Quarter Final Series in 2 games gave the Tigers a little extra time to focus on the Semi Final Series which is a replay of the 1992 Grand Final Series. Tigers v Magic!

Stats Highlights:

Andrew Gaze: 32 points, 6 rebounds & 6 assists

Landard Copeland: 37 points

Mark Bradtke: 21 points. 3 steals, 3 assists and 15 rebounds (10 defensive)
