It was a Monday night in late August and the Tigers were up against the ladder leading Perth Wildcats at home. Perth had played the day before and lost against the Sydney Kings so they would be keen to get back on the winning list.

The Wildcats were certainly fired up and hit 33 points in the first quarter to lead by 9 points at quarter time. In the second quarter the lead got out to 14 but the Tigers stepped up the defence and held Perth to 19 points while still adding 23 points to reduce the margin to 5 points at the long break.

The second half saw the Tigers dominate by keeping Perth to 44 points for the second half while they piled on 62 points, 33 of those coming in the third quarter.

A 13 point win to the Tigers resulted in the Wildcats falling from 1st place on the ladder to 2nd.
