With the Tigers coming off a big win against Hobart and the Kings dropping a game they were expected to win this game could go two ways.

The Tigers started like they did the previous week and scored 35 points in the first quarter but Sydney hung with them and at quarter time the visitors only led by 4 points.

The next three quarters saw the Kings continue on their scoring run while putting some defensive pressure on the Tigers. As a result the Tigers were held to 22 points in the third quarter while Sydney creeped away to a 5 point lead at three quarter time.

The last quarter was a tight tussle with the home team winning the quarter 28 – 27 to record a 6 point victory over the visiting Melbourne Tigers.
