TIGERS THUMP PIONEERS

Melbourne Tigers 106 def Mt Gambier Pioneers 64The Melbourne Tigers have gotten back in the win column after thrashing the winless Mt Gambier Pioneers at home on Sunday afternoon.
Despite the blowout the game would ultimately become, the first 15 minutes of action were closely contested.
The Pioneers kept the game close thanks in part to some nice play from Jasmin Howe (20 points) and Hannah Young (10 points, 12 rebounds), however once the Tigers kicked its scoring rhythm into gear, Mt Gambier could only watch as the game rocketed out of reach.
Over the final 25 minutes of the game, Melbourne outscored the Pioneers 80-39.
The Tigers’ starting trio of Geraldine McCorkell, Monique Conti and Isabella Brancatisano combined for 64 points of its own, equaling the Pioneers final score.
