The Melbourne Tigers announced today the signing of USA native Mike Wells to their 2019 senior men’s roster. The team is competing in the new elite NBL1 league.
Mike is a strongly built 173cm guard who recently completed his senior year at Saginaw Valley college in Michigan USA. With the Cardinals he played and started in all 29 games, averaging 32.7 minutes and 15.8 points per game. He scored a career high 44 points in a game against Michigan Tech. He was named in the first team for the Great Lakes conference
Tiger’s Head Coach Brad Pineau said “Mike is going to be a good contributor to our team. He is quick and makes sound decisions. His style fits with our game plan of playing up-tempo, aggressive basketball.”
Mike will suit up for his first game on Sunday April 7 when the Tigers take on Frankston at MSAC.
I broadcasted some of his high school games in Delaware, Ohio, USA.
Solid young man didn’t get a chance to see a lot of his college career but I do know he’s a very intense player sound on the court can get to the rack whenever he wants I think he will do well. CONGRATULATIONS young man
