The Melbourne Tigers made their intentions clear last weekend against the Sandringham Sabres. Now they will head on the road to face the Nunawading Spectres for a spot in the Preliminary Final.
The Tigers were in scintillating form against the Sabres winning the game by 35 points. Rebecca Cole was dominant with 26 points and 7 assists and 2 steals. Monique Conti had 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Louella Tomlinson had 14 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks as the Tigers Big 3 led the side to the victory.
The Tigers defence was on song as they restricted Sandringham’s shooting to 29.4%.
The Tigers opponents, Nunawading faced the Kilsyth Cobras and were also on the receiving end of a heavy loss. Nunawading though with the benefit of the double chance will be looking to get their season on track or face elimination in straight sets.
The Spectres have lost 5 of their past 6 games and will need to be looking for their experience to beat Melbourne.
If Rebecca Cole and co. fire up again like they did in their previous meeting a few weeks ago, the Tigers will be favourites to be facing Launceston next week.
