The 87-year-old Melbourne Tigers Senior Program on Friday applied to play in Basketball Victoria’s proposed new elite competition for the 2019 season.
Melbourne Tigers pioneer, Lindsay Gaze said he was excited by the prospect of the new league with the potential to expand to a national series.
Off the court, the Melbourne Tigers Senior Program recently created an executive board and an alumni, as the first steps of a progressive plan for the Melbourne Tigers’ brand. The plan includes providing long term certainty for the Tigers, by way of finding a permanent home and by working closely with all pillars of the renowned Tigers club.
The President of the new board is Joel Williams, a 10-year former Tigers junior and an expert in Commercial change management.
The board has appointed Chris Brooking as General Manager, Nigel Purchase as Business Development Manager and Jennifer Connolly as Operations Manager.
