The Melbourne Tigers are very excited to announce that Tom Wilson will return to the SEABL Men’s Team for 2018.

Tom returns off the back of a stellar 2017 season where he earnt SEABL Youth Player of the Year. In the off season, after a stint in Europe, Tom joined Andrew Gaze at the Sydney Kings as a development player.

Tom is no stranger to playing SEABL as previously he played for the BA CoE and Frankston Blues. Tom crossed to the Tigers as a junior in Under 14s where he was a member of a team that won the U14 National Junior Classic (NJC), VJBL Victorian State Championship and Australian Club Championship all in the 1 year while only losing 1 game. He repeated the NJC win in Under 16’s with the Tigers in 2012 but missed on the Under 18’s due to National duties. In 2012 Tom made his first state team when selected to play for Vic Metro at the Australian Junior Championships. Vic Metro would go on to win the tournament.

Tom went on to earn selection to the 2013 FIBA Oceania qualifiers. He would also accept a scholarship to the AIS and go on to be selected for Australia in the 2014 FIBA U17 World Championships. Tom received the honour of being made Captain of the Australian team that went on to win the Silver medal.

Welcome back Tom to the Tigers!

The SEABL Men kick off their 2018 Season on April 8 at 3pm at Oakleigh Rec Centre against Nunawading.
