The Melbourne Tigers haven’t had the best of starts to 2018 but there is still plenty of time for them to start climbing up the ladder. Despite currently sitting in last spot in the Terrill Division with a 1 win – 3 loss record, there has been plenty of signs that the side will continue to improve.
The Tigers opponent, Altona Gators also have a 1 win – 3 loss record. Both sides will be desperate for the win to boost their confidence. Altona will be backing up from a home game on Saturday evening when they face the Sandringham Sabres.
Jeremy Edwards (18.25ppg) and Dogukan Elyazar (17.5ppg) are the 2 most damaging payers for Altona and will have to be on the Tigers watchlist. For Melbourne, Mason Gaze is leading the scoring with 15ppg, whilst Daniel Kinkella and Jakob Cornellisen are both averaging 14ppg. Daniel (8.5rpg) is going to need some help down in the paint on the boards though if the Tigers are going to control the game.
Melbourne need to control the game and not allow Altona any easy baskets inside. If the Tigers can get into the transition offence then they should come away with their 2nd win of the year and a much needed boost.
